Group, Individual, and Vocational Options

The behavioral challenges that may accompany developmental or intellectual disabilities don't stop when individuals grow beyond school age. That's why we provide services for adults ages 18 and older.

Our adult clients engage in a range of programs promoting learning, personal growth, individual choice, and meaningful engagement. Adult services are delivered at VIA's Center for Adolescent and Adult Autism Services (CAAAS), the surrounding community, and in clients' homes.

No matter where we work, our team works closely with clients, clients’ guardians, and other service providers to develop individualized plans based on clients’ goals and interests.

Find the Right Fit with Adult Day Services

Clients learn to interact with peers and connect with others in the surrounding community as part of this flexible program that matches services to clients’ individual needs. Funding may be covered through Medicaid Waivers or private payment, and program options are outlined below.

Clients Engage in a Variety of Opportunities in the Group Day Support Program

Options include engaging in exercise and cooking classes, building independent living skills, developing money management and pre-vocational training skills, and enjoying music and art opportunities in this flexibly-scheduled day program. (We’ll also venture out into the community a bit post-COVID.) The client-to-staff ratio in this program ranges from 4:1 to 7:1.

Community Connections Are Built With the Community Engagement Program

When we resume this program post-COVID, we’ll provide small-group outings that allow clients to build meaningful connections through shopping, volunteering, exercise and wellness activities, errand running, and restaurant outings. The client-to-staff ratio in this program is typically 3:1.

More Intensive Needs are Met with Community Coaching

Clients in this program work individually with staff to develop the personal and interpersonal skills needed to make meaningful connections—often with the goal of moving to the Community Engagement program. The client-to-staff ratio in this program is 1:1.

Identify and Address Behavioral Challenges with Therapeutic Behavior Consultation

Family members, caregivers, and service providers work with VIA’s licensed behavior analysts to develop and implement behavior plans focused on meeting individualized goals. Together, we’ll address behaviors on a set daily, weekly, or monthly schedule. Sessions may be funded by private payment or Medicaid Waiver and typically span six to 12 months, depending upon what’s needed.

Increase Employment Skills and Earn Pay with VIAble Ventures

Clients gain employment skills and earn a paycheck as part of small, sustainable business enterprises. VIAble Ventures artisans with autism make soy candles, sachets, and bath salts as part of our Adult Day Services Program, and their products are sold online and at local businesses. Understand Your Rights

Avoid Surprise Medical Bills
The No Surprises Act protects people covered under group and individual health plans from receiving surprise medical bills when they receive most emergency services, non-emergency services from out-of-network providers at in-network facilities, and services from out-of-network air ambulance service providers.
