Current Status Update — as of May 7, 2020 — 4:00 pm

As of the first week of May, in-person services are still suspended across all VIA programs. VIA staff continues to perform full time outreach, support, and remote learning continuity and to students and  to clients.  Current planning for re-opening programs is outlined below:

JCH Families:  Per the Governor’s order, school is closed for the rest of the school year (through June 5th). VIA is scheduled for a services break the following week (June 8-12, which will be necessary for our staff have after a full schedule of remote services during closure.  As of now, expectation is that the school will remain closed at least until June 15th.

School staff will continue to be in regular communication with you about your situation and your needs, and provide you with individualized learning materials, online chats, resources and lessons for home use. Please contact Hilary at hnagel [at] viacenters [dot] org if you are experiencing a crisis and need support.

VIA is beginning to plan for resumption of in-person services. Please be aware that we anticipate that on-site and in-home services will not return to normal immediately once our facilities re-open. We may need to restrict attendance to comply with best practices and safety guidelines. We will keep you informed as our plans for re-opening develop.

Outpatient Families:  Given the Governor’s guidance about re-opening and the limits on gatherings of 10 or more, OBS clinic and home services will remin suspended at least until June 15. We are continuing to work with regulating agencies and insurance companies to expand the availability of telehealth services. VIA staff will continue to be in contact with you about your needs during closure, and will provide help with scheduling and behavioral and functional communication supports during closure.

Adult Services Families: Adult Day Program is suspended at least until June 15.  Adult Behavior Consultation through remote teleconference has been authorized and staff is continuing to work with families to set that up. Staff will be in regular communication with families and clients to maintain social connection, and provide what support we can.
