Dear Outpatient and Adult Families:
I am writing to let you know that in the light of guidance from the VA Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, the VA Department of Health, and the CDC, we have decided to continue the suspension of in-person Adult and Outpatient Services for the next month (closed through May 1). It is my hope that by continuing to comply with closure recommendations we can help shorten the period until restrictions can be lifted and we can resume full service for our families.
During this closure, VIA Adult and Outpatient staff will be providing telehealth consult services to those clients who are authorized. The regulations on the provision of these services are changing daily and our staff will be working to update you as opportunities for remote service become available.
I also want to remind you that the VIA will be closed the week of April 6 to April 10. There will be no VIA remote services provided during this week. VIA staff have been instructed to begin preparing resources for you during this week of closure. We have decided to keep this originally scheduled closure so that our staff can get some rest and better prepare for the months ahead. Their performance under stress has been exceptional.
We do not take this decision to close our in-person services lightly. We have heard how challenging this shutdown has been for all of you.
Thanks again for your remarkable resilience, patience, and understanding.
