The 2022 VIA golf tournament was held at The Club at Glenmore on Wednesday, June 29. Over 100 golfers gathered to play 18 holes in support of VIA programs and services. This year’s tournament was sponsored by Atlantic ConstructorsBR+ACTSIFaulconer ConstructionPerkins + Will, and Skanska.

Teams increased their donations by purchasing additional games and raffle tickets, winning prizes ranging from golf equipment to a backpack cooler to gift baskets. Golfers got a chance to learn more about VIA at hole 11, where they met VIA safety care coordinator Jeff McCutcheon. Jeff is an avid golfer and teams could purchase a ‘celebrity shot’ from Jeff to help their score.

It was also a busy day for some of VIA’s adult services consumers. Two adult consumers helped stuff and distributed gift bags and greeted tournament participants. Others staffed the VIAble Ventures table, selling $650 of products handmade by artisans at VIA.

In the weeks leading up to the tournament, Glenmore displayed for auction a painting by local artist with autism Camp Fortson. The painting was won by Barbara Rainville, a VIA board member and Glenmore resident.

This year’s tournament raised over $30,000 for VIA, advancing our mission of helping people overcome the challenges of autism through innovative, evidence-based programs in education, outreach, and adult services. We are so grateful to the sponsors, volunteers, and staff at Glenmore for making the tournament such a success.
