Expanding to Meet a Growing Demand:

The Webb Learning Center

VIA Centers for Neurodevelopment is working to raise funds to support the renovation of a new school!

We’re excited to announce our newest addition to VIA—our Webb Learning Center, the future home of the VIA James C. Hormel Day School!

Our fundraising campaign will target renovations at the former Jordan Building adjacent to VIA’s Center for Adolescent and Adult Autism Services (CAAAS) at 491 Hillsdale Drive in Charlottesville.

Featuring significantly more space for students, nearly doubling the size of our current school building to 24,000 sq. ft.

State-of-the-art classrooms to accommodate the sensory needs of the students as well as optimize the learning of critical skills necessary for independence.

All-Abilities Gym and Outdoor Play Space to promote exercise, healthy activities, and lifestyle, and play.

Multi-Sensory Arts and Music Room for students to enjoy art, music, paint, dance, and creativity.

The Webb Learning Center will also feature an Intensive Neurobehavioral Classroom (INC) for eight students, providing comprehensive behavioral assessment and treatment services, including medical consultation, to address the special behavioral and developmental needs of students exhibiting severe challenging behavior.

This classroom is reserved for students whose next steps would otherwise be an in-patient residential facility.

Renovations include state-of-the-art classrooms, a multi-sensory arts and music room, an all-abilities gym and outdoor play space, a nurse’s suite, and multiple conference rooms and staff offices.
