The VIA community celebrated the grand opening of the Center for Adolescent and Adult Autism Services (CAAAS) on Tuesday, September 28. The First Lady of Virginia, Pamela Northam, spoke during the event. “In Virginia, we celebrate minds of all kinds. Our diversity is part of what makes our Commonwealth great,” said First Lady Pamela Northam. “As a former occupational therapist, I appreciate the critical need for quality special education and warm supportive environments.”
The purpose-built space serves students and adults in our community as they acquire job training and independent living skills. VIA launched the Bridge to Adulthood Capital Campaign, and thanks to many supporters, was able to purchase and renovate the former Senior Center on Hillsdale Drive to better meet the needs of aging clients.
