The Special Education Teacher works collaboratively with the Special Education Director and Lexington Day School Director in achieving the best possible outcomes for the students served and in creating a culture of excellence at VIA. The position provides direct instruction, ensures effective curriculum implementation, and effectively meets the needs of individual students through differentiated instruction. The position also contributes to student programming through IEP development and implementation, program monitoring, parent and classroom communication, and summarizing student progress for reporting purposes. Viable candidates must hold a valid Virginia teaching license with special education endorsement or be eligible for a provisional license.
